Dashboard Confessional, who were my biggest obsession way back in 7th grade, continue to be awesome! Tara, Nicole, and I saw Dashboard at Radio City last night, and it was a really lovely concert. We've seen them live a few times, and they're always getting better, playing for more and more people, but still making it feel like a nice, personal show. It was a really excellent mix of old and new stuff, and as always, the audience got to feel a big part of the show.
Ben Lee and Say Anything opened the show. Ben Lee is wonderful. Very charming on stage, you just can't help but enjoy him. Say Anything, not so much. They're your basic group of guys convulsing and playing instruments while one guy convulses and swings a microphone around. Some of that type of thing I take to, but I just wasn't into Say Anything. Maybe because they were in such contrast to lovely Ben Lee and Dashboard with all their presence.
Really excellent evening overall though. Got in some good people watching, especially with the group in front of us who really loved them some Dashboard Confessional. A bit funny, but good for them.
Excellent. Go buy Ben Lee's newest CD.
